10/08/04 New Line Ponds. This week's outing will take in a unique seven arch brick viaduct and the New Line Ponds.

I suggest we meet at the far end of Weybridge Railway South Car Park (Down Side to railway folk!), situated off the B374 Brooklands Road.  If you're coming from the Chertsey area, cross the River Wey, along the A317 Weybridge Road, at the mini-roundabout with Church Street and Heath Road, turn right, (you will see a large church ahead as you approach this junction).  Proceed along the B374 Heath Road, passing the main entrance to Weybridge Railway Station on your right, cross over the railway line, the south side station car park turning is immediately on the right, however RIGHT TURNS INTO THE CAR PARK ARE BANNED!.  Therefore you will need to proceed a bit further along the B374, now Brooklands Road, and turn around at the next side road, come back on yourself, then make a left into the car park.

Anyway I hope to see a good crowd, see you there at about 7.15PM.

03/08/04 The Hog's Back. For those of you coming from the Staines area, you have the choice of two routes:-

1. Join the M25 at Junction 13 (Staines), proceed until Junction 10 (Wisley), leave M25 and join A3, signposted for Guildford and Portsmouth.  Remain on the A3 until passing the outskirts of south Guildford, take the A31, signposted for Farnham.  Remain on this road until you see a large Car Park and Picnic Site on your left, (approx. 3 miles), situated after the B3000 Puttenham junction.

2. Join the M25 at Junction 13 (Staines), process until Junction 12 (M3), leave M25 and join M3, signposted for Basingstoke and Southampton.  Remain on the M3 until Junction 4 (Camberley), leave M3 and take the right hand filter lane off the slip road, and turn right on to the A325 Blackwater Valley Route, signposted for Farnborough, Farnham and Guildford.  Remain on the A325 (for approx. 5 miles), until the junction with the A31, turn left and join the A31, signposted for Guildford.  Remain on the A31 (for approx. 3 miles), until the junction with the B3000, Puttenhan turn off.  Make a sharp left, then left again,  pass underneath the A31, then indicate left to rejoin A31 westbound, signposted for Farnham.  The Car Park is situated very soon after this junction on the left hand side.

For those of you coming from the Chertsey, Shepperton and Weybridge areas, I suggest you take option 1, unless of course you know otherwise!  Goncalo should know the second option very well, as it would appear he travelled along this route last Tuesday in order to get to Ripley.  Let's hope the weather stays fine, see you there!
